PROJECT ANNOTATION:

The project will address the changes in tourism and related industries, which bring current developments in the industry, also associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and responses to this situation. Tourism very often adapts to the conditions set either on the supply or demand side. At present, it is probably one of the most affected economic sectors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in some countries or regions, its reduction has already been reflected in the economic development of the region. Many changes are taking place in this sector, from running tourism businesses to changes in tourist behavior. For this reason, the project will focus on examining supply and demand responses in these situations. The project builds on the surveys already carried out before and during the individual crisis waves caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project builds on previous research and projects of members of the research team and is in line with the thematic focus of their research (tourism in general or the impact of a pandemic). The project corresponds to the areas in which the Faculty of Economics implements study programs (especially the master, and Ph.D. study program Economics and Management). The project supports activities related to cooperation in the region and the development of research in the field of services (especially tourism services).
