Involvement of students in the creation of content for FEK’s academic subjects

PROJECT ANNOTATION:
The goal of the project is to make the instruction of academic subjects at the Faculty of Economics at the University of West Bohemia (UWB) (or at its two departments) more effective and place emphasis on the practical applications of instructed academic topics. The reason for this is the fact that the Faculty of Economics at UWB is interested in continually linking theoretical applications with practice, thus allowing students to gain a better understanding of the studied material and use the acquired knowledge in practice. The next benefit of the project will also be the greater interest among students in participating during instruction and deepening their relationship with their instructors. Practical applications will be processed by students on predefined topics for selected courses of the Faculty of Economics at UWB (outcomes of the students’ survey for the quality of teaching will be used for selection of topics). Academic staff will naturally be at the students’ disposal and will take the role of consultants. This will result in the creation of materials in the form of practical applications – exercises including their possible solutions, case studies, etc., which will be available to students of given subjects on the web pages of individual subjects on UWB’s Courseware. The aforementioned will contribute to completing materials for subjects in order to make them more attractive and more comprehensible to students and also so that students themselves suggest topics they would like to cover in the given subjects, thus making them more prepared for finding their place on the labour market.
